Solarcool, a pioneer in off-grid cooling solutions, today celebrated the opening of its new Smart Hub office in Lagos, Nigeria. This expansion marks a critical step forward in the company’s mission: providing access to clean, reliable energy for thousands across Sub-Saharan Africa. Solarcool Smart Hub Lagos will provide an assortment of conglomerates under one roof in Lagos covering the whole of Lagos, Ghana and Togo.

Founded in 2021 with a vision to combat food spoilage, Solarcool offers innovative solar-powered cold rooms and freezers, fans, and coolers,  – a critical solution in developing regions. The company has seen impressive growth, securing grants, achieving finalist in the prestigious awards Global LEAP award in 2022, and undergoing Verasol certification for the first minus-temperature solar-powered cold storage. Our Product is Built for Africa by Africans who understand frictions that slow the growth of access to clean energy in Africa. Our product is MANCAP-approved. With the support of partners like the PIND, Rural Electrification Agency and  AFDB we are implementing a phased rollout in communities, across Nigeria, Our target is 300 cold rooms by 2026. We continuously source innovative financing solutions to make our products accessible to low-income communities and advocate for policy changes and connect to grants that incentivize off-grid solar solutions and promote wider adoption.

Our Goal of Installing and maintain 10000 solar-powered devices that will impact more than 50,000 households and individuals. Create up to 1000 local jobs in Africa, focusing on empowering women through training programs and market access support.
